A technical and poetic approach

Art workshop launched in 2019, Marion Plaçais specializes in artisanal weaving and has set herself the goal of bringing back into fashion old-fashioned know-how, thus offering a personal and innovative vision of weaving in an approach of sustainability and traceability of materials.

Trained at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels in artisanal and industrial textile techniques, Marion Plaçais decided to set up her workshop in Nantes. There, she experiments with weaving and develops both textiles and collections of high-end products for the luxury sector: decoration, space, haute couture.
From the object to the work, the workshop aims not only to offer unique pieces of artistic craftsmanship but also to rethink modern production methods in order to respond on its scale to the economic and ecological challenges of our time. The first ambition of the artist-craftsman Marion Plaçais is to design her own materials and objects by combining creativity, technicality and commitment.
